Unique Visitors
Unique Visitors represent the number of distinct individuals visiting a website during a specific time period. Each visitor is counted only once, regardless of how many times they visit the site during that period.
- Identification Methods: Unique visitors are typically tracked using cookies or authentication methods to ensure each person is counted only once.
- Non-Additive Metric: This means you can’t simply add unique visitor counts across different time periods or pages since one person may visit multiple times.
- Cookie Deletion Impact: If cookies are deleted, the same person might be counted as a new unique visitor, inflating the numbers.
